Hello everyone!
Welcome to the new Pixel FX newsletter! There’s a lot to cover—Midwest Gaming Classic, new firmware features, upcoming products, and stock updates—so let’s jump right in.
Midwest Gaming Classic
The Midwest Gaming Classic is almost here!
Pixel FX will be attending as a vendor, and we’ll have both RetroGEM and Morph setups running live with a variety of classic consoles. If you’re attending, come by the booth to see everything in action, ask questions, and try the hardware for yourself. We’ll also be previewing some upcoming features and products so it’s a great chance to see what’s coming next.
Updates
Retro GEM Restock Status
We’re happy to report that RetroGEM stock is actively being replenished. They have been shipped from fab and all open orders should be fulfilled next week (Assuming no customs delays)
Infinity Switch Update
The Infinity switch is almost ready to make an appearance. Below is the latest prototype, once we verify it works as intended we will order a larger testing batch.

Morph Auto-Sampling
We’re finishing work on a major new feature for the Morph: Auto-Sampling. This feature automatically detects and adjusts to incoming signal timing, removing the need for manual tuning in most cases. For games that dynamically change resolution the Morph will now intelligently lock in optimal sampling parameters on its own. Auto-Sampling is undergoing final refinements and will be available on the Morph 4K beta firmware channel later in May.
RetroGEM Audio Re-Sampler
Audio has also received a significant upgrade on the RetroGEM. The new audio re-sampler improves compatibility and stability for the GameCube and Wii RetroGEMs and improves audio quality for Nintendo 64. The main use case is for audio resampling of Gamecube's ~48042.7 Hz (exact value: 54000000/1124 Hz) audio sample rate to 48000 Hz. This addresses reports of audio/video drifts on some TVs/capture cards.
This adds three new options under Main Menu->System->GCDigital Settings->Audio Resampler:
Polyphase ASRCÂ (this is the default, using a high quality Polyphase Asynchronous Sample Rate Converter)
Zero-Order Hold (dropping excess sample packets)
Bypass (passing through the original sample rate to the HDMI TX like before)
Enabling GEM audio processing requires changing the RetroGEM solder jumpers, until documentation is finalized please visit the Pixel FX Discord for more details.
Morph VGA2SCART and SCART2VGA adapters
Two new Morph accessories are now available on the Pixel FX shop: the Morph VGA2SCART and the Morph SCART2VGA Adapters.
The VGA2SCART adapter allows VGA sources to be used seamlessly with Morph’s SCART input, while the SCART2VGA adapter does the opposite. Expanding compatibility without adding complexity. It’s a simple, affordable way to unlock support for a wider range of devices while maintaining signal quality. Grab them on the Morph parts shop page.
Morph 2K
We’re excited to officially introduce the Morph 2K—the newest addition to the Morph lineup.
The Morph 2K is designed to receive low-resolution analog video inputs—from 240p all the way up to 1080p input—and convert it to crisp 1080p HDMI output at 60Hz with full 4:4:4 color. With powerful auto-sampling, magic-lock (genlock), lossless color processing, and a fully customizable scaler, it’s built to extract the best possible image from your consoles with minimal setup.
Compatibility is a major focus. Morph 2K supports composite, S-Video, SCART, component, and VGA (requires VGA2SCART), covering a wide range of analog sources. Whether you're using standard consumer cables or higher-end RGB setups, dual input paths make integration into your setup straightforward. With its universal SCART input and USB-A serial control port, the Morph 2K is ready for next-generation analog video switches.
The goal with Morph 2K is simple: deliver top-tier image quality while making advanced control and customization more accessible than ever.
Beyond video quality, Morph 2K brings in a range of modern features:
Ultra low latency with both framelock and buffered modes
Motion adaptive deinterlacing and advanced scanline/CRT simulation
Variable refresh rate support and dynamic clocking
Built-in WiFi for easy firmware updates and Web UI control
Profile import/export, live tools like the Slotmask creator, and SD card support
A USB-A serial control port for future integration with switching devices like the Infinity Switch
Pre-orders for the first production batch of the Morph 2K open June 1st at $199.99. Units are expected to ship in 8–10 weeks.
Once the initial batch sells through, orders will temporarily close and reopen when the next production run is ready to ship.
If you’re attending the Midwest Gaming Classic, stop by our booth to try the Morph 2K in person.
